City Paper: No Endorsement in 8th

In an article in the November 1, 2007 the City Paper chose Brown over Foster in a "newspaper" primary but made this statement. "A quick caveat: We are not issuing an endorsement in the overall 8th District race because we haven't met with Miller or Green Party candidate Brian Rudnick." And..."Brown.. declined to offer any thoughts on what legislation he might introduce, should he be elected."

Rudnick to Daily News Editorial Board: You have some nerve

I had an endorsement interview with Al Hunter, Elmer Smith and Signe Wilkinson of the Daily News editorial board today and gave them a 15 minute shakespeare version of my platform AND

 

Rudnick Supports Committee of Seventy Ethics Agenda and proposes the addition of three more reform items

I wholeheartedly support the 22 items on the Committee of Seventy Ethics Agenda because these proposals work against nepotism, payoffs, and the like and because they advance the Green Party principles of active democracy, governmental transparency, fairness and social justice.

To the agenda I would like to add

1. Introduce legislation for 3 term limit for City Council
2. Introduce legislation to change the minimum age to serve on Council or as Mayor from 25 to 21
3. Introduce legislation for runoff elections whenever the highest vote-getter in any election does not receive a majority of the votes.

I am asking the Committee of Seventy to add these 3 to the 22 in place for a nice round 25 items!  The Committee of Seventy Ethics Agenda follows:

"We had a great day, helping rake up leaves in the park, painting a mural, listening to music, meeting college students from rural areas participating in the La Salle University training for future teachers, and of course - eating. A special treat was getting to chat again with Democratic Mayoral nominee Michael Nutter and meet his wife Lisa.  They stopped by on a trolley car tour in the afternoon.
